Stephen Chow spent his teenage in Shanghai with his family. Chow is a great admirer of late action star Bruce Lee, and developed interest in martial arts and aimed to be an action star.

Stephen Chow got into Hong Kong TVB acting school and graduated in 1982. He was given the opportunity to host a children program “430 Shuttle” in TVB that he began to gain some fame. (TVB is the largest TV channel network in Hong Kong.)
Stephen Chow got some supporting role in numerous TVB series, but his breakthrough came from the big screen. Chow’s 1988 sitcom role as a thief in Danny Lee’s movie “Final Justice” won him a Golden Horse best supporting actor award.
Seeing Chow’s potential, TVB offered him leading role in TV drama “Final Combat” which he started to show off his non-logic comedy talent.
Tasted success in movie scene, Stephen Chow continues to star in a few popular movies. It was till 1990 when he starred “Saint of Gamblers,” a comedy version of Chow Yun-Fat’s box office hit “God of Gamblers” that made Stephen Chow a superstar.

Saint of Gamblers (also named “All for the Winner”) went on to break Hong Kong’s movie record with boxoffice of over HK$40 million. Since then Chow was unstoppable and starred in over 50 movies, most of it were super hits.
In 1992, Stephen Chow dominated the top 5 movie bestseller of the year in Hong Kong. Back then he was one of the box office hit-trio, together with Jackie Chan and Chow Yun-Fatt. All 3 of them have now expanded their influence into Hollywood.
In 1994 movie “From Beijing With Love,” Stephen Chow began taking part in script writing and directing. As Chow began to contribute the ideas of his own, his movies transformed from pure comedic to more meaningful and with more artistic sense.
Although gaining wide popularity among audience, Stephen Chow was not given much attention from movie awards. Many of his fans felt unfairness for him as his comedic value was not appreciated.
Anyhow Stephen Chow didn’t give up and in year 2001, he produced his first solo directed movie, “Shaolin Soccer.” Combining sport, love, comedy and digital effects, he created a box office miracle in a poor Hong Kong movie market, breaking record with HK$60 million of tickets receipts.
It’s also with Shaolin Soccer that Stephen Chow finally gained the appreciation of various awards presentation again, he won both best director and best actor in 2002 Hong Kong Film Awards.
Hollywood also recognized the potential of Stephen Chow and purchased the US rights for Shaolin Soccer. Shaolin Soccer was not a great success in US but enough to make people started noticing Stephen Chow.
In 2004, Stephen Chow produced another of his masterpiece, “Kung Fu Hustle.” Although still playing the leading role, he focused more on directing and production behind the scene.
Kung Fu Hustle had broken his own boxoffice record of Shaolin Soccer, and again winning him multiple awards and even nominated for best foreign film in US prestigious Golden Globe Awards.
The production of “Kung Fu 2″ has been confirmed, but the production had been delayed due to unforseeable issues. Chow is however starting to make another movie related to outer space and UFO.

S.H.E released their first album “Girls’ Dormitory” in 2001, which was a great hit and after they released their 2nd album “Youth Society” in 2002… their popularity are unstoppable.

Amuro Namie started performing at the age of 12 in a little Okinawan supermarket. At 15, Amuro and 4 classmates from her acting school formed a group called the “Super Monkeys,” and their songs received some public interest in Tokyo.
The Super Monkeys also attracted the attention of music mogul Tetsuya Komuro, who decided to mentor Amuro into a superstar. The remainders of the Super Monkeys were later reformed as a girl group “MAX” and achieved decent success of their own.
Tetsuya Komuro first production for Amuro, “Body Feels Exit,” exploded her into Japanese music scene. Amuro’s music dominated Japanese music charts and became Japanese music top seller in 1996.
Amuro Namie was not just famous for her music, but also her fashion & style. Amuro was a fashion icon among teenage girls with highlighted hair, thin eye brows, tan skin, short skirts and high boots. The trend (or followers) was named Amuras or Amuroers, and can still be seen everywhere in Asia nowadays.
In late 1997, Amuro shocked her fans by announcing her marriage (and pregnancy) with Sam, dancer from popular band TRF, she gave birth to her child Haruto in May 1998.
In December 1998 Amuro made her comeback with single “I Have Never Seen” which debuted as a #1 hit. Things were however not the same again, although still very popular, Amuro was no longer the pop-diva that dominated Japanese music, facing fierce rivalry from then rising star Ayumi Hamasaki.
In 1999, Amuro decided to make improvements with her music and worked with American producer Dallas Austin to bring more R&B into Japan music scene. Before she could produce anything, Amuro was shocked by terrible news that her mother (Japanese-Italian mixed) was brutally murdered and it slowed down Amuro’s ambition in her music career.
Amuro ended her collaboration with mentor Tetsuya Komuro in 2001 and in 2002 she shocked the Japanese music scene again with pseudonym “Suite Chic.” Suite Chic was an R&B project where Amuro worked with numerous Japanese R&B and Hip Hop artist to produce a few singles and an original album.
Amuro Namie divorced with her husband, Sam in July 2002.
Suit Chic project was ended in 2003 with success and Amuro was back to solo. She released her first original album in three years, “Style” end of 2003, followed by series of singles and 2005 album, “Queen of Hip Pop.”
Amuro Namie is also famous for her annual concert tour, she only missed it during her pregnancy, and her concert never failed to attract full house of fans and audience.

Hsu Shu Juan started her entertainment career after she won a talent contest in 1990, and became a member of a female trio “Shao Nu Dui” （少女队 – which means Girls Team in Chinese). The group released their debut album in 1991, followed by another in 1992, but didn’t achieve much success and was disbanded.
Hsu Shu Juan then went into modeling and made her acting debut in 1994 with Taiwan movie “Shaolin Kid.”
Her breakthrough came in 1995, when she changed her name to Vivian Hsu Jo Hsuan and produced a nude book “Angel Heart.” Vivian also starred in 2 Taiwan movies “Evil Angel” and “Angel Hearts” with seducing and naked scenes.
Vivian Hsu produced another 2 nude books “Venus” and “Devil Angel” in 1996 before giving up on exposing herself for fame. By then she’s already one of Taiwan most sort after star and was getting famous in Japan.

Taiwan actress Xu Wei Lun passed away at 7.37pm on Sunday (January 28). Her heartbeat stopped at 5.09pm and the doctors didn’t managed to get her back after 2 hours of rescue.

Wei Lun met with a car accident on Friday night and couldn’t recover from her head injury. She suffered internal bleeding in her skull.
